Aside from Italian culture, scenery and great food Lake Garda in Italy is a also a fabulous sporting centre. The north end of Lake Garda, Italy offers what is probably the best windsurfing, sailing and kite surfing on any inland water in Europe, plus there are numerous mountain bike trails and fun packed activities such as canyoning and trekking. There is even a Lake Garda marathon from Limone to Malcesine, which takes place every year in September. Around the south east area of Bardolino and Lasize there are a number of Italian theme parks, such as Gardaland (an Italian style version of Disneyland) and Caneva World which offers not only a superb water park (Acqua Paradise) but an action packed theme park - Movieland.
Lake Garda, Italy boasts its fair share of local events, food and Italian wine festivals - such as 'Moniga In Rosa' (Moniga in Pink), which takes place every June and celebrates the production of the fabulous Chiaretto wine in Moniga del Garda, Italy.
